I had done a sale of 1000 shares of ETFC out of 4000 owned. The automatic E*Trade online update credited me with 3000 new shares of ETFC but did not have the sale or the cash from the sale. The Sale was already cleared and settled at E*Trade. I have done this type of sale and it worked fine on Quicken 2009.
